Set up your profile

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Enter your Whatnot username as your Display handle. It's stamped on every photo along with the order number and time.
  3. Set your high-value threshold (default $100). Orders above it that are still missing proof get a warning stripe on your dashboard.

Bring in your orders

Pick one way to get your Whatnot orders into Packtrail:

Upload a show report (CSV)

  1. On whatnot.com, open Seller Hub → Shipments.
  2. Pick your show in the show filter, then open the sidebar.
  3. Under Show Actions, choose Export Show Report (CSV).
  4. In Packtrail, tap Import CSV on the Orders page and upload the file. Importing the same file twice won't create duplicates.

Or connect with your Whatnot token

Create a personal access token in Whatnot's developer dashboard with the read:orders, read:shipments and read:customers scopes, paste it on Packtrail's Whatnot page, then tap Sync now. Packtrail only reads your orders. It never posts or changes anything on Whatnot.

Pack each order with proof

  1. Tap Pack on your phone. Scan the shipping label, or tap the order in the list.
  2. Follow the four steps. The camera opens in one tap and Packtrail moves to the next step by itself:
    1. 1Item photo. Fill the frame with the item. For slabs, make sure the label and cert number are readable.
    2. 2Item going into package. Show the item going into the mailer or box, so the item and package are in the same shot.
    3. 3Packing video. One continuous take, up to 60 seconds, without stopping: say your code, show the item, put it in the package, seal it, and finish on the shipping label with the tracking number and buyer name readable.
    4. 4Sealed package, label visible. Sealed package with the shipping label facing the camera. The tracking barcode should be readable.
  3. When all four are saved, the order shows Proof complete and Pack Mode offers the next order.

Tips for good proof

  • Pack one order at a time, in good light.
  • Start the video by saying the code Packtrail shows you, or write it on the package where the camera sees it.
  • Keep the item in frame for the whole video, and don't stop and restart it (up to 60 seconds).
  • End the video on the label so the tracking number and buyer name are readable.

When a buyer files a claim

  1. Open the order in Packtrail and tap Log a claim. A countdown shows how much of the 48-hour window is left.
  2. Tap Generate Claim Kit. You get a private link and a PDF with the order details, tracking, every photo and the video, their times and fingerprints, and a plain-language summary.
  3. Tap Copy share link (or Download PDF) and paste it into your reply to Whatnot support. Then tap I sent the proof.
  4. Links expire after 30 days, and Turn off this link stops one early. When Whatnot decides, mark the claim won or lost.

Packtrail gives you the evidence. Whatnot decides every claim under its own policies.

What Whatnot support sees

This is the page your share link opens. The packing video comes first, then the three photos. Each file shows when Packtrail's server received it and its SHA-256 fingerprint: a 64-character code calculated from the exact file. If even one pixel of a photo changed, its fingerprint would be completely different, so anyone can download an original, run SHA-256 on it, and check that it matches.

Sample order and drawings; in a real kit these are your own photos and video. The PDF holds the same content.

Summary

Whatnot order #700009: 2000 Bowman Chrome Tom Brady RC #236 BGS 9 ($2,100.00), sold to @gridiron_greg on Oct 30, 2026. Claim reported: package not received.

@slab_city_breaks recorded a packing video for this order. Packtrail's server received it at Oct 30, 2026, 1:42:30 AM UTC, and its SHA-256 fingerprint was recorded on arrival. The video is the first file in the evidence below.

Before recording, Packtrail's server gave @slab_city_breaks the one-time code 47 19 at Oct 30, 2026, 1:41:20 AM UTC, to say out loud or show in the video. If the code is heard or seen in it, the video was recorded after that time, for this order.

@slab_city_breaks photographed this order while packing it (item photo; item going into package; sealed package, label visible). Packtrail's server received the photos between Oct 30, 2026, 1:41:00 AM UTC and Oct 30, 2026, 1:43:30 AM UTC. Each photo is stamped with the order number, and its SHA-256 fingerprint was recorded on arrival, so any later change to a file would be detectable.

Photo 3 shows the sealed package with the shipping label.

Generated by Packtrail, a packing-evidence tool for Whatnot sellers. This page shows records only; decisions on claims are made by Whatnot.

Sample Claim Kit: summary, order and shipping details, a packing video and three photos, each with its server time and SHA-256 fingerprint.

What your proof shows, and what it can't

Packtrail gives you the kind of evidence Whatnot asks for: a continuous packing video and photos, tied to the order, with times and fingerprints anyone can check. It's worth knowing exactly what that shows.

What it shows

  • When each file was recorded. Packtrail's server notes the time each photo and video arrives. Changing the phone's clock doesn't change it.
  • That nothing was edited afterwards. Each file's SHA-256 fingerprint is recorded on arrival. If a file changed later, even by one pixel, the fingerprint wouldn't match.
  • Which order it belongs to. Every photo is stamped with the order number, your handle and the local time, and is saved under that order.
  • What the camera saw while you packed. One continuous video of the item going in, the package being sealed and the shipping label going on.
  • That the video was made for this order, then. Packtrail's server gives you a one-time code just before you record, and notes when. Say it or show it in the video, and anyone watching can tell the video wasn't reused from an earlier pack.

What it can't show

  • What happened to the package after the video ended, or while it was with the carrier.
  • Whether the buyer received it. Tracking from Whatnot and the carrier shows that part.
  • Anything the camera didn't capture, so keep the item, the seal and the label in frame.

That's why the video matters: it shows the item going in, the package sealed and the label applied in one take. Swapping the item afterwards means cutting open a package that was sealed on camera. Whatnot decides every claim under its own policies.

How your records are kept safe

  • Records can't be changed

Once a photo or video is saved, it can't be replaced or edited, and neither can its time or fingerprint. Order details from Whatnot are saved by Packtrail's server, not typed in.

  • Files are checked again

Each time a Claim Kit PDF is made, every file is downloaded and its fingerprint checked against the one recorded on arrival.

  • Private by default

Your photos and videos are stored privately. Only you can see them, unless you send a Claim Kit link.

  • Share links you control

Each Claim Kit link is long and unguessable, expires after 30 days, and can be turned off at any time.

  • Read-only Whatnot access

Packtrail only reads your orders, shipments and buyer usernames. Your Whatnot token is encrypted and never shown again after you paste it.

  • Payments through Stripe

Stripe handles your card. Packtrail never sees or stores your card number.

Plans

  • Free: 50 proof-complete orders a month, photos and videos kept 120 days.
  • Pro: $19/month, unlimited orders, photos and videos kept 365 days. Cancel anytime from Plan → Manage billing.
